Encounter Coach® Certification
MetaFormation offers two Core Modules that lead to certification:
Within these modules, we explore the three primary channels God uses to speak to us: directly through our spirit, through relationships, and through life circumstances. Each module focuses first on your personal transformation in that area, then learning tools to transform others, and finally on practicing them to build confidence and competence.
Both new and practicing coaches can earn the Certified Encounter Coach® credential through MetaFormation’s unique training workshops. This is a full, rigorous certification program that offers you more than industry standards while doing it for less financial investment than most competing programs. Plus, it’s transformational, biblical and brings Jesus into every coaching conversation!
What’s required:
Our certification standards are simple. You’re required to complete both Module 1: Encounter and Module 2: Grow along with 100 encounter coaching hours. When completed, you’ll have acquired:
80 hours
of live coach training with our Certified Coach Trainers.
27 hours
of supervised mentor coaching with our Certified Coach Trainers.
36 hours
of peer coaching along side other members of your respective cohort.
100 hours
of coaching practice (35 hours with us plus 65 hours of coaching on your own).
How our Coaching Certification is different
Encounter Coaching has three key features that distinguish it from other coaching approaches:

Certified Professional Encounter Coach
For those who have completed the training requirements for being a Certified Encounter Coach® (Modules 1 and 2), we have the next level of training (Module 3) to advance to our highest certification level – Certified Professional Encounter Coach.

Module 3: Lead
In this course, you will be equipped to effectively coach leaders to live and lead from a place of intimate relationship with Jesus in every season of their calling journey. Along with creating a healthy culture, you will also help leaders recognize between their “being call” and “doing call” to see transformation in their specific spheres of influence. Module 3 will launch in First Quarter 2026.
